Today’s Morning Prayer: The Spirit of Forgiveness

Today, I give thanks to you, heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ your Son, that you have protected me through the night and granted me another day. I ask you to walk with me this day, steer me from all sin and evil, that in all my thoughts, words, and deeds I may serve and please you.

Today, help me learn the spirit of forgiveness. Help me to forgive every injustice I feel in my mind, and to love unconditionally.

Today, strengthen my will to forgive anyone who has hurt me, even if I believe the offense is unforgivable. Help me to escape the straightjacket of my resentment and enjoy the freedom of spirit forgiving imparts.

Today, help me to heal all the guilt in my heart, by accepting the forgiveness of everyone I have hurt in my life. Help me to recognize the mistakes I have made, and give me the wisdom and determination to not repeat the same mistakes.

Today, I embrace your gift of love and forgiveness; and thank you, Father, for giving me the capacity to forgive and accept forgiveness, so that I might love unconditionally, share unreservedly and live wholly.
